What is Mississippi Scholars?

he Mississippi Scholars Initiative is an education program managed by the Public Education Forum of Mississippi and the Mississippi Economic Council, which uses business leaders to motivate students to complete a rigorous course of study in high school. This course of study will not only prepare them for college — but for life.

Every spring, volunteers across Jackson County lend their time and efforts to present the Mississippi Scholars program to 8th graders in Jackson County Public Schools. The program is sponsored locally by the Jackson County Chamber of Commerce.
