Head Start Parents
Head Start encourages parents to participate and partner with the program by volunteering their time and talent. Parents have input into classroom and nutrition activities via lesson plans and menus. Parents can actively engage in the vital business operation of the program by serving on the Policy Council and Parent Committees and participate in the annual Self-Assessment. Parent Committee meetings give parents an opportunity to gather information and awareness about social and health issues within the community. It also allows them to become familiar with community resources and partners.
The agency offers opportunities to families for personal and social growth through parenting classes, Healthy Marriage/Relationship Initiative, The Fatherhood Initiative and Case Management through CSBG.
